Our society makes us all conscious about how we look and feeds us the idea of what is considered "BEAUTIFUL". What is BEAUTIFUL.. is you, just the way you are and that is what my song speaks about, loving self. So now I want to make a video for the song, starring you.
- Open to all ages and gender.
- If you love who you are, struggling with your identity or sexuality, don't feel accepted by society based on sex, race, weight or any physical appearance, exude confidence or bashful and other struggles, then this video is for you.
- Download the free song "BEAUTIFUL" (click here)
- Send in a video of you singing the song (at least 30 sec). Be creative and have fun expressing yourself in your element, you may even have a sign which reads "I am beautiful". Send video to ELECTRIQSOULHIDEOUT@GMAIL.COM with subject I AM BEAUTIFUL with briefing of why you should be considered.
- Submission deadline Dec 30, 2015.
BEAUTY THEY SAY, IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. BUT BEAUTY, IS HOW YOU FEEL.
We are taking AFROROCK RELIGION to Europe!
Afrorock Religion is a fusion of afro beat music, soul, rock, funk and a bunch of other twangs concocted to form an explosion of melodic delight designed to unify all through the spirit of music. I have amazing band mates in Adrian Morris (bass), Shawn Wallace (keys), Vinnie Roofe (guitar), Brandon Tigner (drums), Bass Claiborne (vocals), Soltre James (vocals) and sometimes Stacy Letrice (dancer), Naomi Kinslow (dancer) and a horn section...our shows are designed for liberation. We have 2 opportunities to play in Europe which I have worked very hard to secure and don't want to miss a dream come true due to funding. This is why we are desperately in need of your help.
Check out how you can get involved and what's in it for you.
2015 is starting off right and what more can I ask for than to share my brain child with you. "Hey You" off the AFROROCK RELIGION album is scheduled for release late January-early February 2015. This video will be the 4th from that album and it was shot by Tony Smith of Love Lace Studios, featuring the amazingly beautiful designer Kelley "KFLEYE" Mosely and directed by me.
This collaboration was a God sent experience and it gave birth to some magical moments. Below are some preview still from the shoot.
As we say "au revoir" to 2014, I know a lot of us have many things we would like to achieve in 2015. So I pray 2015 has in store for you more than you have ever imagined, all the beautiful things you desire along with much happiness and you are steady on the path to achieving those goals you have set.
Thank you for an AMAZING 2014 and I can't wait to see you in 2015.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Traveling is turning out to be one of my favorite things to do now...internationaly of course. This year was no exception as I went to Paris, London and Amsterdam doing a few acoustic gigs along the way and had an absolute blast with the folks I met . Most importantly, I found a creative way to shoot a music video for "Make Believe". There is so much world out there and so much so see, I feel rich in spirit
Here are a few shots I took on my trip and the new video .
An afternoon in Paris
Arc de Triomphe Paris
Because its so darn hot in here!
It has been such an exceptional week, starting off doing a show with one of Regges greates Beres Hammond and then doing the "Promise To Love And Stop The Violence In Chicago" show with Kem. Both were to a packed house at the Shrine in Chicago and it was great to also have the south side alderman, Bob Fioretti take the stage as well and speak on violence and bringing more jobs to Chicago’s south side.
Kem performed most of his hits and new single and we both used the platform to speak on the civilian injustice in Ferguson and the shottings in chicago.
With Beres Hammond 8/19/14
With Kem 8/20/14
With the uprise in violence in my city Chicago, I am deeply saddened yet honored to be apart of the " Promise To Love & Stop The Violence In Chicago event with Motown recording artist and GRAMMY nominee artist Kem at my home The Shrine . We will be taking a stand and spreading the message of love and unity. There is still lots of love to give and share and we hope to make a change through music. Music saves lives
You raised me up to be strong man, when I'm feeling lost in this world...on your voice and words I can depend. As tears of you slowly run down my cheek, I wonder and sure hope I've made you proud.
Love you pops.
Few of my favorite moments from the "Afrorock Religion" album release in chicago. The energy of the night was so freaking amazing!
Man was this an amazing night! Introducing the AFROROCK RELIGION movement to the world and there was'nt a still body in the room.
After years of hard work and trying to create a project to be proud of, its finally here. AFROROCK RELIGION will be out April 11th starting in Chicago at Martyrs then onwards.
Now this project has some honest writing and the sound is bigger and fuller. You can expect to hear a fusion of afrobeat, rock, soul, funk and a little blues that I can't wait for you to hear it.
